Knee Pain

The knee is the largest joint in your body and for a good reason; it does a lot of the heavy lifting. With each step you take, the knee takes most of the force. Because of this, individuals’ knees are prone to pain. Knee pain is one of the most common scenarios we see in our clinic.

Knee pain symptoms can vary, but some include:

  • Swelling
  • Stiffness
  • Popping noises
  • Grinding
  • Inability to straighten knee
  • Unable to walk properly

Some common causes of knee pain are trauma from a serious accident (such as a torn meniscus or an ACL tear), overuse, trauma, wear and tear, or degenerative conditions, such as arthritis. There are also certain aspects of an individual that can increase their risk of knee pain. These can include being an athlete or performing athletic activities, people who undertake physical labor, obese individuals, and older adults.

Knee pain is ultimately holding you back from comfortably executing every day activities. At Unity Physician Services, it is our doctor’s’ goal to give you back your optimum health so you can live your life to the fullest.
