How Busy People Can Work OutJanuary 28, 2019
One of the best ways to manage back pain in Glendale is to get regular exercise. However, even though you know the importance of breaking a sweat and getting your blood pumping, it can be difficult to find the time. For many people, it might feel like there are not enough hours in the day. This causes self-care to take a backseat and eventually requires you to go back to the pain clinic in Glendale when symptoms return.
Luckily, there are a few ways that you can sneak exercise into your daily routine. Here are some tips on how you can stay healthy without compromising your busy schedule.
Try to Do Something
It’s recommended that adults get 30 minutes of exercise at least three to four times a week. However, a little bit of exercise is better than nothing. Try to sneak in a workout during those small 15 minute gaps you have in your day.
For example, if you have 15 minutes before needing to pick the kids up from school or head into a meeting, pack some exercise in. Run up and down the stairs, go for a quick walk around the office, or do some reps with hand weights. These small workouts will add up.
Multitask Whenever Possible
Who says you need to dedicate your entire focus to exercise? Multitask whenever you can and sneak some exercise into your routine. For example, do some quick yoga moves while on a conference call – or take it from your cell phone and go for a walk around the block. Instead of reading the paper, plug in a podcast and go for a run while catching up on the day’s news.
Turn Chores Into a Workout
We all need to do things like wash the dishes, cook dinner and do the laundry. Turn these chores into a workout! Do some squats while bending down to put the laundry in the washing machine, or do some calf raises while standing at the sink and washing dishes. Challenge yourself to find a move to do with every chore you perform – you’ll feel like you accomplished twice as much in a short amount of time.
While it can seem impossible to find time to exercise, you might be surprised at the things you can do to fill your day. You will feel better and have more energy, and also help keep pain at bay.
